These days more and more developers use WordPress to build websites.

Besides the ease of developing with WordPress, clients enjoy the freedom of being able to edit and update web pages without having having to call or email a web developer.

What is WordPress? It is a content management system or CMS, as they are more popularly called. WordPress is the framework behind simple, highly functional websites. Clients log in with a user name and password and come to an interface where they can select pages and blog posts to write or edit.

In addition to the ease of making changes using a WYSIWYG (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) interface, there are also a host of plug-ins and themes available for WordPress. Plug-ins allow both clients and developers to easily integrate features like contact forms and photo galleries without much coding, and in many cases, no coding at all.

Over the years, I’ve found clients not only prefer WordPress, but they ask for it by name. In 2009, WordPress was awarded Content Management System of the Year.
